Guidelines for the international students MBU

 

Conditions for entry into the territory of

the Slovak Republic from 11th January 2021 –

Guidelines for the arrival of international students of the

Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica in SS 2020/2021.

 

Due to the current worsen situation in Slovakia regarding the spread of the pandemic disease COVID-19, the Resolution of the Government of the Slovak Republic No. 808 from 31st December 2020 regulates freedom of movement and residency by a lockdown from 1st January 2021 to 24th January 2021 – currently extended until 7th February 2021 (only essential shops/banks/insurance companies/repair shops/post offices/e-shops are open; curfew exceptions: going to the supermarket/pharmacy/medical appointment/testing site/individual stay in nature within your district).

 

Currently valid Decree of the Public Health Authority No. 7 from 10.01.2021, which imposes measures in the event of a threat to public health concerning the quarantine obligations of persons after entering the territory of the Slovak Republic:

1. IF IN THE LAST 14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL TO SLOVAKIA YOU HAVE VISITED ONLY EU COUNTRIES, ICELAND, NORWAY, LIECHTENSTEIN OR SWITZERLAND:

  • you must remain in self-isolation at home quarantine or at a quarantine accommodation facility, which ends by receipt of a negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 taken on or after the fifth day of home isolation or 10 days of asymptomatic isolation are completed

OBLIGATION:

  1. register on the website https://korona.gov.sk/en/ehranica/ immediately upon entering Slovakia at the latest;  
  2. be able to demonstrate your registration to a member of the Police Force during your stay in Slovakia;
  3. undergo a laboratory diagnosis of COVID-19 on the fifth day of isolation at the earliest

 

ENTRY EXCEPTIONS – no need of isolation and registration

  • upon entering Slovakia, you have a negative result of the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 performed in laboratories outside the territory of the Slovak Republic, not older than 72 hours;
  • upon entering Slovakia, you have a negative result of an antigen test for COVID-19 carried out in laboratories in Austria or Czech Republic, not older than 72 hours;
  • if you have a permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia and you are a citizen of the EU countries, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland and you have overcome COVID-19 in the period of no more than 3 months before entering Slovakia and you are able to demonstrate a certificate from the doctor proving it;
  • you arriving from “green low-risk countries” – Australia, China, Finland, Iceland, South Korea, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan

 

2. IF IN THE LAST 14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL TO SLOVAKIA YOU HAVE VISITED GREAT BRITAIN AND OTHER COUNTRIES  OUTSIDE OF EU, ICELAND, NORWAY, LIECHTENSTEIN OR SWITZERLAND:

  • you must remain in self-isolation at home quarantine or at a quarantine accommodation facility which ends by receipt of a negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 taken on or after the fifth day of home isolation

Some airlines may currently require proof of a negative COVID-19 test when returning home. Conditions relating to the carriage of passengers are the responsibility of the airlines. It is necessary to contact the certain airline regarding the conditions of boarding and return to the Slovak Republic.
