The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), based in Osnabrück, Germany, operates a scholarship programme with 19 countries (Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Kaliningrad oblast, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro) in Central and Eastern Europe. The aim of the programme is to enable university graduates to obtain further professional qualifications to solve environmental and nature conservation problems in their home country.

The scholarship lasts six to twelve months and includes an intensive German course lasting several weeks. Host institutions in Germany can be universities, research institutes, ministries, companies or associations. The application requirements and scholarship benefits can be found on our homepage .

Since 2009, the DBU has also been supporting young university graduates form Slovakia. So far we have been able to award 34 scholarships. In order to make the CEE scholarship programme of the DBU known in Slovakia by the next application deadline on 01.08.2019, we would like to ask you to include us as a funding organisation on your homepage or to refer to our programme in the case of enquiries from university graduates regarding further training opportunities.
